Convertible Center is the result of the meeting between two men, Erik IMAN and David EDERY, who after individual and successful experiences in furniture distribution joined forces to create CONVERTIBLE CENTER in 2011.
This is to meet a growing consumer need for space-saving furniture, inexpensive sofa beds and Rapido convertible sofas.
Their idea is to offer cheap sofa beds, at direct factory prices with significant discounts of up to 70% compared to similar or identical products offered by other brands, all thanks to reduced margins and the elimination of intermediaries by making direct factory deliveries.

Where are our products manufactured?
Our sofas are manufactured directly in our factories in France and Europe , where each model is carefully designed according to rigorous specifications, which combine artisanal know-how and the latest innovations.
By controlling the entire production chain, we offer you products of impeccable quality, all at the best prices, without intermediaries.
How can we offer such low prices?
We sell more than 10,000 sofas per year, which allows us to purchase raw materials in large quantities and obtain more attractive prices from our suppliers.

Which mattress should you choose for your convertible?
For occasional use , such as hosting guests:
- The mattress with a density of 20 kg/m³ is included in the price of the convertible. It offers good comfort and a soft bed . (Guaranteed for 2 years)
For daily use , with good support without too much firmness:
- Choose a mattress with a density of 35 kg/m³ . This popular model ensures a soft and fluffy sleep . (5-year guarantee)
For daily use and in case of back problems or heavy build:
- Adopt our best-selling mattress with a density of 40 kg/m³ to alleviate back pain. Its reinforced support guarantees a long life and optimal support with a firm sleeping surface . (5-year warranty)
For daily/intensive use or if a very firm bed is required:
- Choose a mattress with a density of 55 kg/m³ . Durable and efficient, it distributes body weight well, reducing pressure points and ensuring restful sleep. (5-year warranty)
What is a High Resilience (HR) mattress?
(HR) : High Resilience Polyurethane foam
The resilience of a mattress is its ability to return to its original shape after being subjected to pressure (having been folded for a long time).
The higher the density, the more your mattress will be able to preserve its original shape over time . By choosing a High Resilience mattress, you are guaranteed to have a durable and very comfortable mattress to use.
Metal base or slatted base?
For occasional use :
- The electro-welded metal grid base will provide you with soft and supple comfort . You will therefore benefit from perfect and constant sleeping quality over time, without the risk of sinking.
For daily use :
- The double wide slatted base ensures firmer support , very solid and excellent longevity. Reinforced , they will ensure you sleep like in a real bed.
Can I leave my duvet or sheets in the convertible?
Generally speaking, sofa beds are not designed to allow you to leave your duvet on them .
Indeed, due to its thickness , it could damage the mechanism of your magnificent convertible sofa in the long term. However, you can of course leave any other thin fabric there, such as your mattress protector, your fitted sheet, your daily sheets, or your small blanket .
The order
How can I find out about the availability of our items?
We have a stock of more than 1000 products that can be delivered within 48 hours for Paris and the Paris region , or within 10 days for other regions as well as Corsica, Belgium and Luxembourg. These items are visible in the In stock category.
Other products are available within 8-10 weeks as we will manufacture it for you! Stock may vary depending on the color chosen. Click on the desired color to discover, under the image, the associated delivery times .
You also have the possibility to filter your search from the collection page using the "In stock" sorting tool.
Can I have a fabric sample before ordering?
We would be delighted to send you up to 4 fabric samples for the model of your choice! Simply tell us the names of the models and the colors you are interested in, as well as your full contact details ( name , surname and postal address ) so that we can send them to you.

Can I choose my delivery date and slot when ordering?
When you order, we give you the option to choose the desired delivery date from the calendar .
In Paris, the Paris region and Switzerland, you will receive a text message the day before the chosen day, in which you will be informed of your 3/4 hour time slot.
For all other regions, including Belgium and Luxembourg, you will receive an email informing you of the shipment of your order. A few days later, our carrier will contact you by text message so you can confirm a final delivery date. You will then receive a text message the day before your chosen delivery date, indicating your 2-3 hour time slot.
Can I add additional information?
Of course , we are at your disposal to inform you about our products and to help you choose the product adapted to your needs. Our customer service is available from Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 01.39.78.44.74

Can I track the status of my order in production?
All our sofas are handmade , guaranteeing exceptional quality , which requires time on the part of our team .
Designing a sofa is broken down into six key stages , each lasting between 1 and 2 weeks :
- Manufacturing the structure, adding the springs and foam, covering the cover, final assembly, quality control and finally packaging.

Can I pay in installments?
You can pay in several installments without fees 2, 3 or 4 times without fees with Alma. Payment is made directly by credit card. Identity or bank account verifications may be requested.
You can also pay on credit from 12 to 36 months with Younited Pay. Once you have completed your order on the site, you will need to select Younited Pay as your payment method, you will then be redirected to the credit subscription process.

Deliveries
How does delivery work?
Our delivery drivers can deliver to you from Monday to Saturday (excluding public holidays and Switzerland). For more information on the delivery process, please see our Deliveries and Returns page.
Delivery without installation: Your order will be delivered to the curb. You will then be responsible for collecting your packages. We recommend that you carefully check the number of packages delivered and the condition of the packaging before signing the delivery note. No products will be carried upstairs or unpacked inside your home.
Delivery with installation: Two delivery drivers will install your order at your home. They deliver the sofa beds in three packages (sofa, armrests, and rolled mattress) and remove the packaging. For mainland islands (excluding Corsica and Switzerland), delivery is made to the ferry terminal. Above the 5th floor without an elevator, a surcharge of €30 per floor is payable to the delivery company (check or cash).
Delivery for difficult access: Two delivery drivers will unpack and disassemble the sofa to get it through narrow passages. They will then fully reassemble the sofa in the room of your choice. For deliveries above the 5th floor without an elevator, a surcharge of €30 per floor is payable to the delivery company (check or cash). This service is non-refundable, even if disassembly was not required.
Delivery with installation and removal: Two delivery drivers will remove your old sofa and then install your new order in the room of your choice, also removing the packaging. Important: the request for removal of your old sofa must be made at the time of ordering (charged at €60).

This service is non-refundable even if it was ultimately not necessary to perform it during delivery.
What happens if I am not there when my delivery is made?
The carrier will contact you shortly to arrange a new delivery date .
However, we would like to inform you that an additional fee of €120 will be applied for this reorganization.
These fees cover the costs associated with logistics management and reallocation of resources needed to ensure the new delivery.
Do you want to postpone your delivery? / Work not completed?
It is imperative to inform us of any changes at least 10 days before the initially planned delivery date.
This delay is necessary to allow us to efficiently reorganize our logistics schedule and to guarantee that your new delivery takes place in the best conditions.
Any request made after this deadline may not be able to be taken into account without additional costs .
Will your sofa bed fit through your doors?
The convertible sofas arrive in 3 packages : the sofa , its armrests and the vacuum-packed rolled mattress in a cardboard box, to facilitate its passage and installation.
For corner sofa beds , delivery is in 4 packages, including the chaise longue, to ensure easier handling even in the narrowest stairwells.
Package dimensions:
- For a 120cm bed with packaging: L 150 x H 90 x D 97
- For a 140cm bed with packaging: L 170 x H 90 x D 97
- For a 160cm bed with packaging: L 190 x H 90 x D 97
Once unpacked, remove 5cm from each package.
In case of narrow passage , the sofa will need to be unpacked and placed in a vertical position so that the seat and then the backrest can pass through first .
All our sofas are designed to be disassembled , but only our delivery drivers in the Île-de-France region can perform the disassembly. For deliveries outside the Île-de-France region, we can still disassemble the sofa, provided you select the "Delivery with difficult access" option during checkout on our website. Please note that if the delivery requires access via stairs, the staircase must be at least 90 cm wide.

Returns and after-sales service
Can I make a return?
We understand that buying a sofa bed or furniture online can be difficult, doubt is part of life!
This is why you benefit from a 14-day money-back trial from the date of receipt (excluding Switzerland).
If the product is not suitable for you or you change your mind, contact us here to arrange a return.
The product must be returned without any signs of wear . The refund will be made after recovery and inspection , excluding return costs which remain your responsibility. This period may be extended if the return takes longer.

What are the precautions for using our sofas?

The structure
The sturdiness of our sofas is guaranteed by a wooden frame designed to withstand the various stresses it will encounter throughout its lifespan. The materials used are carefully selected both at the time of purchase and during the production process.
The structure of your sofa will always remain intact and perfect over time, provided you follow these precautions:
- Don't jump on the sofa and don't throw yourself violently onto it.
- Do not sit on the armrests and/or backrests.
- Do not crawl on the sofa on rough surfaces (carpets, rugs, etc.) and when moving it, even on smooth surfaces, lift it and do not push it.
- Do not pull the sofa by the armrests to avoid possible sagging of the seams.
The padding
Our upholstery requires no special care other than the normal maintenance of a sofa. Once home, it will need to be gently reshaped to restore its original appearance, which may have been lost during transport. It is advisable to repeat this process daily or after each use. Indeed, the sofa undergoes a long period of transport before arriving at your home, which can temporarily alter its initial aesthetic quality.
Tips for restoring your sofa to a great condition:
- Tap the back cushions with both hands, stroking the cushion from the inside out.
- Tap the backrest cushion with one hand while holding it from behind with the other.
- Pull the end of the cushion with one hand and pat it with the other.
- After the backrest, move on to the two armrests, tapping them evenly from the inside out.
- After use, stretch the padding.
Warnings:
- Polyurethane foam padding tends to soften during the first three months, then stabilizes permanently. This process is perfectly normal; in fact, when someone sits down for the first few times, they exert pressure on the seat which causes the micro-cells that make up the polyurethane to rupture. This rupture, which is entirely physiological for this material, results in a slight softening.
- For the same reason, it is perfectly normal that when you first buy a sofa, the flexibility of a seat/backrest, chaise lounge, or ottoman filled with polyurethane foam will differ from that of other seating placed next to it, depending on its specific use. This characteristic will disappear after the first three months of proper use.
- These creases should be considered perfectly normal and are a result of the settling that the leather also undergoes during the first 3 months of normal use.
The coating
Warnings:
- Place the sofa at least 50cm away from heat sources such as stoves or radiators.
- To preserve the color of the upholstery, avoid exposing the sofa to direct sunlight or powerful lamps.
- In case of dust, brush gently using a soft-bristled brush or a medium-power vacuum cleaner, using the most appropriate accessory provided and taking care not to rub the coating.
- If you buy a new sofa with the same upholstery in terms of item and/or color as the one you already own, you may notice slight differences in tone between the two.
- For re-matching upholstery parts, find a color reference sample between the seat and the side of the sofa.
Sofa bed
Proceed as follows to open the mechanism:
- Position in front of the sofa, in the center. The mechanism can only be opened and used if the seat and back cushions are attached to the frame.
- Open the sofa bed by pulling the backrest towards you. Do not sit or lean on the seat during this operation.
- Do not open the mechanism while holding the seat.
- Grasp the tube in the center and pull the folder towards you.
- If the mechanism does not open easily, do not force it, but look for the cause that prevents the movement; for example, check the position of the front band.
- During opening, guide the mechanism's movement by continuing to grip the tube. As it opens, guide the mechanism until the feet touch the ground.
- During opening, do not push the backrest down, do not lean on it or sit on it, and avoid any action that forces the mechanism open.
- Do not jump on the sofa bed, as this could impair the mechanism's operation and durability (maximum static load 240 kg). Do not allow children to play with or tamper with the mechanism. Avoid sitting or standing on the end, head, or foot of the net.
To close the mechanism, proceed as follows:
- When closing, grasp the bottom of the mechanism in the middle and lift it upwards. Ensure the mattress is not bagged. If it is, remove the bag from the mattress before closing the mechanism.
- Do not close the sofa until you have ensured that the mattress is correctly inserted into the mechanism and into its seat.
- Ensure that there are no objects under the mechanism during the closing phase.
- Operate the mechanism until it is completely closed.
The interview
- Remove dust and dirt from the mechanical part of the movement every 3 months.
- Lubricate the joints and linkages of the mechanical part of the movement with a spray lubricant every 6 months.
- Check the condition and integrity of the elastic straps every 3 years.
- Some of our mechanical models are equipped with a QR Code sticker to indicate correct use.
The packaging
All finished products are always assembled for a final check before being packaged.
The packaging and loading are carried out with the utmost care, reinforcing sensitive parts such as the feet.
