Care tips for a fabric sofa bed

Conseils d’entretien d’un canapé convertible en tissu

The centerpiece of the living room, it is necessary to maintain your convertible sofa so that it keeps its covering intact over the years. Discover in this article all our advice for maintaining your fabric convertible sofa…

STEP 1: PROTECT YOUR FABRIC CONVERTIBLE SOFA

Upon receipt of your fabric sofa bed, we recommend that you purchase a waterproofer that will protect your sofa against possible everyday stains.

STEP 2: DUST YOUR FABRIC SOFA BED

Every week, we recommend that you dust your fabric sofa bed, because dust settles everywhere, including on your sofa. Using a brush, remove dust and animal hair then vacuum.

STEP 3: WASH YOUR FABRIC SOFA BED

You can clean the stained areas by hand with white vinegar.

If that's not enough, our sofas have removable covers on the seat and back, so you can put them in the washing machine. Be careful, machine washing requires a good setting to avoid damaging the covering. So wash the covers on a delicate program, at 30°c or cold. It is also possible to dry clean the covers at the dry cleaners.

For the non-removable parts of your sofa, we advise you to obtain a special fabric product which cleans the sofa thoroughly and leaves it with a long-lasting fragrance.

STUBBORN STAINS ON A FABRIC SOFA BED

If your sofa has stubborn stains (blood, grease, coffee, ink, mud, wine), we sell a kit that will allow you to remove these stains effortlessly. You can waterproof your sofa beforehand with the protector to minimize the incrustation of liquid. A natural cleaner is also provided. What will allow optimal efficiency is the use of the cleaning glove which removes incrustations without creating pilling, wear or fading. A cloth is also provided to dry everything.

This product can also be applied to your cushions, carpets, curtains and car upholstery!

        TIPS

Grease stain: For all greasy stains (salad dressing, sauce, frying) we recommend sprinkling talcum powder on the stained area. Let it sit for a few minutes. Then apply an absorbent sheet and iron over the entire area with a hot iron. Finally wash with hot water and apply the sofa care kit .

Blood and wine stain: For wine and blood, apply talc (flour or cornstarch). Let it sit for a few minutes. Brush off the excess then wash with cold water and apply the maintenance kit. If this is not enough, apply hydrogen peroxide.

Mud stain: For mud, it is best to let it dry before cleaning. Brush off excess, wash with warm water and apply the care kit

Ink or felt-tip pen stain: For ink, first soak the cloth provided with the sofa care kit in 70° alcohol, dab the area, then wash with the glove and cleaner.

Cigarette burn stain : Soak the stain with hydrogen peroxide then clean with the cloth provided soaked in hot water and lukewarm glycerin.

Candle stain: Gently scrape the stain with a spatula, apply an absorbent sheet and iron over the entire area with a hot iron. Finally wash with hot water and apply the cleaner .
